Menard of Bridgeville Donates to Local Food Bank

Pittsburgh, PA (February 6, 2009): Menard, a local ground improvement specialty contractor, has presented a $2,500 check to the Bridgeville Area Food Bank.

Menard employees made a resolution for 2009 to control costs and be more involved in the local community. When the office staff identified areas in the budget to eliminate unnecessary expenses and waste, an employee suggested using a portion of the projected savings to sponsor a local food bank. "The employees selected the Bridgeville Area Food Bank based on its continuous history of supporting the local community," says Cindy Fuller, marketing coordinator.

Fuller says that Menard is doing its part to help local residents in these challenging economic times. "The January 15, 2009 article in the Post-Gazette titled Pa., Ohio Issue Plea for Federal Assistance to Needy, put it in perspective for us," she explains. "We think that local businesses should find ways to help out. If everyone just gives a little, we might make up some of the current shortfall."

Menard supports several charitable events and agencies. Now the corporate plan includes an annual gift to the local food bank and other local charities.

To donate, call 412-221-5132, or send non-perishable foods to Bridgeville Area Food Bank/Bethany Presbyterian Church, 740 Washington Ave., Bridgeville, Pa., 15017.

Menard is the US branch of Menard an international ground improvement specialty contractor. Menard is affiliated with The Reinforced Earth Company, the inventor and market leader of the Mechanically Stabilized Earth retaining wall industry, and Freyssinet, specialists in prestressing, cable stayed structures and structural repair. The three companies form the Freyssinet Group, a division of VINCI Construction, one of the world's largest construction companies.
